Hi!
This past week in ISM has been pretty relaxed. We mainly took what we learned in some of our interviews, and analyzed them to get the most out of them and learned from that. We also made our topic proposal which was the start of us really choosing the specific field we want to study.
For me anyways, I have recently narrowed it down to package design. I am just completely enthralled by the aesthetics of it and how you can create a three dimensional product from something that was originally just an idea. That really just amazes me, because you get to deal with so many parts of design within package design. You create the logo, graphics and layout of it not to mention the way it is presented. And through endless amounts of research I have conclude that package design really does fit my personality and skills the best.
I have always enjoyed creating things, inventing new products and solving problems in design, essentially, package designers are really just inventors with style. You get to showcase a new product while still putting your own personal style and voice in that artwork you have made.
In conclusion, now that I have figured out specifically what I want to study, I am excited to start making some original work and finding a mentor to give me some advice and pointers.
Until next time!
