Hi again!
So this past week in ISM was incredible. We had our Business Symposium on Friday, which if you don't know, is a District-wide event that allows all ISM students from different schools to have the opportunity to talk with Business Professionals and conduct mock interviews with these professionals. It was held from 8am-11:45am and I can honestly say, it was one of the most eye opening experiences I have ever encountered.
Not only was I exposed to the professional world but was critiqued on my resume, body language and social skills. All these things gave me the opportunity to improve upon these aspects before it was too late. Also, I never realized the importance of mingling, and being able to communicate with others on a casual level. It sounds almost foolish to say, but being able to talk to adults and respected business people in an informal way can be intimidating, however it is extremely crucial to be able to do. Future employers look for those who can be able to do everything, including talking with people in both professional and non professional ways to see that you are well rounded.
On another note, I would just like to thank everyone that came out to symposium and all the professionals that were there as well, It wouldn't have be able to work with out you and you gave us knowledge and advice we will take with us for the rest of our lives.
Thanks you!
