So ISM is coming to a close for this year of 2015-2016. I can honestly say, I have never been more proud of myself and my classmates for being able to achieve what we have. We have all grown in skills, confidence and been able to keep our sanity (or what's left of it).
Final Presentation Night was with out a doubt one of the most stressed out times I have ever been in my life. I was running around, pacing back and forth trying to get the nerves out while trying to rehearse my speech over and over. There was also a time that once the bell rang for school to get out, you could see every bit of panic on every ISM kids face since we knew we would only have a little over an hour to get ready and start showcase. Not only that, but we had to make sure our helpers were aware of what was going on and that they were well informed.
One of the most scared times was when I realized I had everything ready to go...except that I had forgotten my shoes at my house. I had to make jarred run to my house, get my shoes and come back within 10 minutes so that I wouldn't have to present in converse.
However through all the panic and chaos, I was still able to get through showcase, the mentor recognition, and my 30 minute speech, in which an ISM Alumni attended my presentation.
I wanted to die when I began talking with him and realized he was an ISM Alumni who had studied Color Theory and Design and Marketing and I was just over here probably saying everything wrong. Never in my life had I been more nervous to give a speech. I stumbled over quite a few words but nonetheless I am still content with how the night of FPN went, and I look forward to seeing more growth and improvement for next year's ISM.
