Hi again!
So this past ISM week has been pretty nice, we really focused on getting our invitations done, updating our portfolios and working on our final product, as well as prepping our rooms for Final Presentation Night.
My final product has really been the most challenging thing so far. The deadlines kind of snuck up on us, and so we are in a little bit of a panic mode to get it finished in time to prepare my speech and get it ready to present. We have done the first couple of pages and have given ourselves some deadlines for when we want to get this done.
Also, because our styles in design differ so much, we have to keep communicating with one another to make sure we are on the right track. And while this may seem tiring and like wasted time, I think it is actually very helpful in the long run. Since most clients I would be working with would like to see or know the updates I have on their product as soon as possible, I think it is very helpful to understand that urgency and need for communication now, opposed to later.
In addition, my AP 2D Art class will be taking a trip to the Dallas Art Museum, The Nasher, The Warehouse and to Clyde Warren Park, and I am extremely excited. I think it will give me some new inspiration to use in my designs and in my art. It is very important to see other peoples work in art and design, not just because it gives you new ideas, but its good to understand why we make art, and that its not just for the money or for the clients. It's to see that all art, wether it be digital or tangible, is a form of self expression and that it can tell a lot about the artist. So, I think this trip will give me some new perspective as well, and I can hardly wait!
