Hi everyone,
I'm not going to lie, this past week has been one of the hardest, if not the hardest weeks of ISM I have ever endured. Not only that but it's going to be as bad, if not worse this following week. Yes, the amount of sleep I have had is minimal to none, and I am pretty sure my sanity is shot too. However, this past week has also been one of the most productive and accomplished weeks I have had as well.
To start off, we had original work due. Remember that survey I had you all take a couple weeks ago? Well, I took what I learned from that, as well as some research I collected and turned it into an Infographic. It took me several different attempts to plan and organize it to the way I wanted it to look like, and I had to figure out how I wanted to present the information to the audience. I decided that I wanted to encompass the idea of color theory, and wether or not it mattered. In doing so, I wanted to make sure people understood the history of color, so I put that at the top of my infographic, followed by the meaning of color and lastly by how color impacts branding.
Personally I put my heart and soul into this work and its weird, I can actually see a huge improvement in how I design things now. And I'm not sure wether it is because of the knowledge I have gained or just the practice, or both but I can really see the growth in my performance, and I am happy with where this is leading me.
All I have to do now is present my findings through my Original work speech on thursday and honestly I have no idea how that will go. I have seen a huge improvement in my speeches so far, but I have never really been good at public speaking so it will be interesting to see how I will do. I will say, however, that through ISM I have been able to get overcome my fear of public speaking slightly, which is better than not improving it at all. I think public speaking is one of those things that takes a lot of practice and confidence, and I am slowly working on it so it will come in time.
I will update you guys next week, wish me luck on my speech!
