Hey everyone!
Happy New Year! I know it has been a while since I posted, but I hope you all had wonderful holidays! So what exactly has happened these past few weeks? Quite a lot.
First of all, we had research showcase on December 17th of last year, which was a huge success for not just the Liberty ISM, but all of Frisco ISD. Now, I am a little biased and would argue that our ISM did an outstanding and exceptional job, but it wouldn't have been as big of a success if it were not for all of the families, teachers and mentors who attended, so a big thank you to you guys as well.
So, if you didn't know what research showcase entailed, basically it was us ISM kids presenting what we have learned thus far in our research and studies in our specific fields of study. It allowed us to talk one-on-one with those who had any questions or those interested in our field. We had prepared so heavily for this presentation and I am so glad that it turned out the way it did.
Furthermore, most of us have mentors now and are working on our final product and original work. And to be completely honest, I have found original work to be quite a challenge. The point of it is to solve a problem and come up with a thesis for us to research and collect data. Now, in theory this sounds simple, but when you apply it to a field like Graphic Design it can get a little challenging. Graphic Design is art. But art can be interpreted in several different and arguable infinite ways, who is to say that my thesis can prove something in art and make definite conclusions?
I guess we will have to see what I come up with!
