Hello Again!
So this last week in ISM, we started mapping out and creating our display boards that we will use for research showcase coming up on December 17th. One thing that became very apparent was that my board needed to be the best (visually anyways) out of the rest of my classmates. I don't mean that in an arrogant way, but what I realized is that because my field is Graphic Design, people coming to me are going to base and judge my board off of my talents and how well of a Designer I am, and what I have learned thus far in ISM.
People will ask me how I incorporated Graphic Design into my board and I will have to be prepared to answer every question about it, and answer them with insight. I think that will be the hardest part, considering that If I take too long to think of a response they might assume I don't really know anything about Graphic Design. So every little thing on my board I have to place with reason and purpose as to why it is the way it is and why it fits into design.
This will include colors, lines, shapes, values..all the principles and elements of design, all while incorporating the information needed on the board. The real problem I think I will face is space, specifically white space. Having so much on a small board will make things look crammed and cluttered. However, everything on my board is essential to understanding Graphic Design.
Overall, I think these last couple of weeks before showcase will definitely take a beating out of me, but as long as I pace myself to get all my work done and feel confident about my work then everything will go smoothly at showcase. The key is having the right mindset and once that is achieved, everything will fall into place.
Until next week!
