Hey!
Because this is my first blog post, i'll give you a introduction to the reason why I am starting this blog in the first place. This blog was created to serve as a portfolio of all my work and progress made in ISM this year. I will be uploading weekly posts here on the home page to keep everyone updated on my progress and for me to see the growth within myself.
These first few weeks of ISM, taught me so much already. We learned about:
•The basics of public speaking
•How to professionally shake a hand
•How body language is interpreted
•The importance of a resume
•How to properly dress as a business professional
•How networking can be beneficial.
These few things have already allowed me the chance to get out of my comfort zone when it comes to public speaking and intrapersonal communications. I already feel more confident and less anxious to talk to people I may not know and be confident enough to be the one to start a conversation. A big part of this achievement is owed to Mr. Wysong, my ISM teacher, because he gave us all the wisdom and knowledge needed to start us off in the right direction to finding a mentor. I still need to work on being able to hold a steady conversation, but with the progress already made, I'm excited to see how far I will come by next week.
