Hi again!
So as always, I'd like to update you guys on my progress in ISM, and what we have accomplished thus far. One thing I would like to mention, is that because thanksgiving break is next week, not a lot is happening in ISM right now. We thought it would be best to take a break from the hard work, if at least for a week, to reward ourselves. This class is not easy, but it is rewarding, and what you put into it, is what you will get out of it, and I think I'm starting to realize that more than ever now.
A large portion of ISM is the original work each student creates. We each have to come up with a hypothesis of sorts, that will allow us to collect data to come up with a conclusion that will result in new findings in our field and help us gain more knowledge about each of our future careers. For example, my field of study is obviously graphic design. What I think I will do is create a survey for elementary, middle and high school students to take over what they like most about the packaging of an item. From the results and answers I get back, I will be able to see exactly what each age group likes in a design package. So, if I was to make my own designs, I would be able to know what specifically attracts an age group or target audience.
Overall, I am very excited to report my findings of my original work and present them at either winter showcase or final presentation night, and look forward to the amazing work I will be able to create with my mentor.
